Channels to buy CNC machinery

Companies that are just starting to produce products, prototypes or parts using CNC technology may be asking themselves the question: where can I buy the machinery?

It may even be a question that experienced professionals have and want to know alternatives to what they have "always done".

In this article we will explain the main possibilities, as well as their advantages and disadvantages. In short, there are 3 channels: manufacturer, distributor and financial institution.

1. Direct purchase from the manufacturer

Buying a CNC machine directly from the manufacturer is not always possible, as many companies prefer to have a network of distributors to be able to better reach customers and forget about the whole process involved in shipping the machine, setting it up, training operators, etc.

However, buying from the manufacturer has two fundamental advantages, which make this option highly valued. On the one hand, the possibility of getting a better price, as intermediaries are eliminated and the fewer parties that interfere in the sales process, the less you have to pay. On the other hand, the best quality technical service will always be provided by the manufacturer himself, as he knows the machine best and has the best spare parts available.

If you are interested in purchasing a CNC milling machine, you should know that at Perez Camps milling machines we manufacture them and sell them directly to workshopsWe use European parts of high quality and offer a personalised after-sales service, as well as training to get the most out of the machine's functions. If you want to know more, you can explain us your case and together we will see which CNC machine is the most suitable for you

2. Buy the machine from dealers

A very common option is to buy from distributors. In some cases the manufacturing company does not sell directly, so this is the option you will have to take.

The Logistics is the main advantage of buying from distributors, as they will take care of solving incidents related to the purchase and maintenance of the machine. In some cases, they can also provide financing facilities for the purchase. This is especially true for large companies or companies that manufacture high-cost machinery.

3. Buy from financial or specialised institutions

This way of buying machinery may seem strange, but in recent years it has become an interesting alternative for not having to make large outlays all at once.

There are financial institutions that facilitate the sale of machinery in installments or offer the possibility of contracting renting or leasing services. Even so, it is important to bear in mind that they are only a payment facilitator and it is necessary to find out what the training or after-sales service will be like, among other things.

At Pérez Camps, in addition to being manufacturers, we offer a renting system for those companies that cannot afford to buy a machine or that only need the service for a few months. Moreover, as it is a rental, the VAT on the instalments is deductible as an expense and does not generate accounting debt, as you have not asked for a credit, something that is sometimes forced by financial entities.

To give you an example of our renting prices, if you purchase a TEC-CAM Motion milling machinewith a 1,300 x 2,500 mm "turnkey" table, the cost would be:

To be paid in 48 instalments: 824,26€ / month + VAT *.

o be paid in 60 instalments: 674,20 € / month + VAT *

*conditional on the risk analysis of the financier

There are several channels for buying machinery, with different benefits and drawbacks that affect price, guarantees and important aspects such as training, after-sales service and logistics. Our recommendation? Always try to buy directly from the manufacturer that gives you the most confidence and high quality options.
